Beach alert: 7 reasons to put Lagos on your bucket list now!

Posted last July 3, 2014, 11:16 am in Entertainment report article

Valen, blogger at This way to Paradise, listed 7 reasons while Lagos, Portugal is a must:

1. Perfect Beaches

The beaches of Lagos are so stunningly gorgeous that you will feel like you are in a dream when you see them! Beach caves connect some of the beaches, while towering cliffs surround you in a hug from the universe. The sand is the perfect softness and the aquamarine waters will leave you feeling soothed in a way not even a spa treatments could do.

Oh yeah!

2. Jaw-dropping Hiking Paths

Lagos has some of the most jaw-dropping views that you’ve ever seen. Jagged cliffs tower over the crashing waves and there’s no better way to see them than to hike them.

We recommend a coasteering, a physical activity that encompasses movement along the intertidal zone of a rocky coastline on foot or by swimming, without the aid of boats, surf boards or other craft, to explore the nature of Lagos’ coastline.

3. Remarkable sunsets

I saw some of the most extraordinary sunsets of my life in this eastern western corner of Portugal. Somehow the light here was more ethereal and I saw sunset colors I had never seen before.

We must agree a 100%.

4. Scrumptious Food

Lagos also has a spectacular choice of food. I soon get tires of the mainly cod-based Portuguese diet, and enjoyed all the international food Lagos offered. I ate delicious Mexican, Indian, and incredible seafood.

We do not agree that the Portuguese diet is cod-based, but yes, Lagos offers a great variety and quality of food!

5. Sangria

The Portuguese are very gifted at making what was some of the best sangria I’ve ever had, Fruity and refreshing without being too sweet, it was the perfect remedy for a hot day.

Agree. Sangria is a great drink during the summer, bot red and white, but it quality varies a lot from place to place!

6. The Waves

Lagos is haven for surfers. With perfect waves and plenty of beaches to choose from, this is a spot you don’t want to miss.

Totally agree! Book now with the Algarve Surf School and learn how to surf or improve your skills:www.seabookings.com!

7. The People

The people of Lagos were warm and friendly, and it was also easy meeting other travelers. (…) I’ll never forget my time in Lagos, and I can see why many people who visit wind up never leaving.

We must agree; we are from Lagos! ;)
